Email Marketing – good idea or not?
Well simply put yes. Email Marketing, if done right, will gain a massive benefit in brand exposure and even return on investment.
The outlay in minimal and the return can be great. But only if it is done properly and that is the key to a successful e-marketing strategy.
We have all received 100's if not 1000's of unwanted unsolicited emails about products or services we do not want or that can even be offensive. Not to mention the threat of virus or fraud attached to some. Because of this if you send unsolicited or unwanted email, even to genuine prospects, you will be grouped in with the spammers in the prospects minds and binned without even being looked at.
On top of this if you send unwanted, unsolicited emails to prospects this is known as SPAMMING which is illegal and has resulted in some individuals having massive fines or even jail sentences.
Not to mention the damage this can do to your brand.
So the simple rule about sending unsolicited marketing emails: Just don't do it.
