Ok this is a worn out subjects but only the other week a relative of mine gave out her bank details over an email…..

Yes after all the warnings….

So let's start with the basic when receiving and sending emails

• NEVER give out your bank, credit card or personal details over email – no bank, Credit Card Company or trustworthy company of any kind would ever ask you to do this.
• Do not open unsolicited emails, that is emails from people that you don't know, or have not asked for, they can contain viruses, porn, or be fraudulent.
• Make sure your home computer or computer that your children use is in an open family room and teach your children to inform you if they get emails from people they do not know.
• Do report to your bank, credit card company etc emails that you receive that claim to be from them, as 99.9% of them are not and if your report it those companies will have fraud preventions teams that will be tracking such fraudsters
• Do install email filtering software, anti spamming software, anti-spyware software and virus software (quite often you can get an all in one)
• If you think your personal information has been compromised report it to the police and the banks or companies concerned to stop any activity on your accounts

It is possible to track senders of SPAM, fraudulent and Virus filled emails and insomnia can provide this service if needed or if companies are just curious to find out if companies are who they say they are.
